English Service Weekly Bulletin 16th Aug 2026
Welcome to ECF Holy Word Church! As we gather this Sunday, let us come before God with joyful and thankful hearts to worship Him. Jesus calls us to love God with all our heart, soul and mind, and to love our neighbour as ourselves. This is not only our faith; it is God’s mandate for us. May we grow deeper in our love for God and share His love with the people around us. Whether you are visiting for the first time or are part of our church family, may you experience God’s presence, grace and peace today.

A joyful reminder that Ps Mao’s Ordination Service is happening today at 2pm at #74! If you’ve RSVP’d, please arrive early and be seated by 1.50pm at the latest. Let us come together to witness this significant occasion and celebrate God’s grace with joy and thanksgiving!
A reminder that our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held next Sunday, 23 August, at 11.30am in the #74 Sanctuary. We will have a Combined Chinese-English Service that morning, so please take note that everyone will worship together at 9.30am. We encourage everyone to join us for the service, and all church members are reminded to attend the AGM that follows. Those who are not yet members are also warmly invited to stay, listen in, and learn more about our church.
Beginning this October, we will have a Church-Wide Prayer Meeting on the first Sunday of every month, from 9am to 9.25am. This will be in addition to our existing prayer meeting on the first Thursday evening of each month.
We believe that if the church is to move forward, we must first come before God in prayer. Prayer is not simply bringing our needs to God; it is allowing Him to align our hearts with His, interceding for His church, seeking His direction, and asking Him to accomplish His purposes among us.
So, on every first Sunday, we encourage everyone to come to church early. Let us not simply arrive for worship, but first prepare our hearts through prayer and seek God together. From 9am to 9.25am, let us pray together, listen together, and align our hearts with the heart of God.
Our Seniors’ Bible Study will begin promptly at 10am this coming Wednesday. This season, Rev Ng will be sharing on “Relationships in the Bible.” All are warmly welcome!

We thank God for a fruitful Annual Church-wide Prayer & Planning Retreat last Monday. We are grateful for His guidance as our ministry and pastoral leaders prayed, shared, and sought His heart together, and for the unity and meaningful conversations He gave us. May the Lord continue to lead us as we turn what we have discerned into action, that in the year ahead our church may know Him more deeply, follow Him faithfully, and fulfil the mission He has entrusted to us.
Congregation prayer concerns:
Let us continue to keep Brother Philip Chua, Sister Lai Swee Fong, Sister Chiu Fong Har, Sister Ng Moh Tuck, and Mr Li Jing Lun (Sister Lee Choy Foong’s Father) in prayer.
