English Service Weekly Bulletin 30th November 2025
Welcome to ECF Holy Word Church! Today marks the beginning of Advent, a season of preparing our hearts with gratitude and anticipation for the coming of Christ. Our theme this year is “Break Walls, Build Bridges,” as we seek to deepen our connection with God and one another, sharing His love and hope. Whether you are visiting for the first time or have been part of our family for years, we warmly invite you to journey with us in faith.

Join us this Thursday at 8pm in church for our year end combined prayer meeting. It will be a meaningful time of thanksgiving as we look back on God’s faithfulness. Come prepared to share and give thanks to the Lord. Our Chiang Rai mission team will also be sharing reflections and testimonies from their trip. All are welcome.
This Advent, set aside 4 hours to slow down and draw close to God. You can do the silent retreat at a quiet café, park, beach, chapel, library, or even a peaceful corner at home. Our guide, “Drawing Closer” is available for you to take home. Please pick up a copy at the table outside the sanctuary.
This coming Sunday, 7 Dec (11.30am), there will be a Chinese Alpha class at Pastor’s Office, with the theme “How to have faith?”. Feel free to invite your friends to attend. Please register with Brother Jit Leong or Rev Ng.
Our Christmas Service will be held on 21 December with the theme “The True Meaning of Christmas.” There will also be a baptism during the service, and we will witness six of our brothers and sisters taking this important step of faith: Brother Lu Yong Quan, Sister Jessy Gu, Brother Thomas Fu, Sister Ng Jing Ying, Brother Brendan Chan, and Brother Gareth Ho. Please keep them in prayer.
We will be holding a Christmas celebration on 20 Dec, jointly organized by Joo Seng Residents Network, Neighbour Ring Community Services, and ECF. Everyone is encouraged to join us as we celebrate Christmas together and share the joy of the birth of our Lord Jesus!
Our church will be holding a 200KM Relay Challenge on Saturday, 6 December, 8AM–12PM at the National Stadium external track. This event supports NRCS in raising funds and awareness for mental health needs in our community. Let’s run with purpose and support the work of NRCS.
We are currently collecting Missions Faith Pledges for 2026, with a target of $35,000. Today is the final day for pledge submission before we consolidate. Please prayerfully consider your giving and submit your pledge in the box outside the service hall as we unite together in supporting our church’s mission work.
The seniors Bible study will be held this Wednesday at 10am. This season, Rev. Ng will share the theme “Fruit of the Spirit”. Join us!

As we enter this Advent season, let us begin with a heart of thanksgiving. Advent reminds us that God has drawn near to us through Jesus Christ. No matter what we have walked through this year, His grace has carried us, His presence has sustained us, and His love continues to lead us. Let us pause, give thanks, and lift our hearts in worship. May this season help us draw closer to God and to one another as we remember the hope, peace, joy, and love that Christ brings.
Congregation prayer concerns:
Let us continue to keep Brother Steven Lim, Brother Tan Keng Khim, Sister Chen Yik Ying, Sister Ng Moh Tuck and Sister Chiu Fong Har in prayer.
