Welcome to ECF Holy Word Church! Today marks the beginning of Advent, a season of preparing our hearts with gratitude and anticipation for the coming of Christ. Our theme this year is “Break Walls, Build Bridges,” as we seek to deepen our connection with God and one another, sharing His love and hope. Whether you are visiting for the first time or have been part of our family for years, we warmly invite you to journey with us in faith.

Our Christmas Service will be held this coming Sunday on 21 Dec with the theme “The True Meaning of Christmas.” There will also be a baptism during the service, where we will witness 6 of our brothers and sisters taking this important step of faith，Brother Lu Yong Quan, Sister Jessy Gu, Brother Thomas Fu, Sister Ng Jing Ying, Brother Brendan Chan, and Brother Gareth Ho. Please keep them in prayer. Refreshments will also be provided for everyone, so do stay back for fellowship after the service.
We will be holding a Christmas celebration this coming Saturday, 20 Dec (6.30pm-9.30pm), jointly organized by Joo Seng Residents Network, Neighbour Ring Community Services, and ECF. Everyone is encouraged to join us as we celebrate Christmas together and share the joy of the birth of our Lord Jesus!
On 4 January 2026, we will be holding a New Year Consecration Service as we dedicate ourselves afresh to the Lord for the year ahead. During the service, we will also be installing our new term of deacons and general council leaders. As the service will be slightly longer, it will conclude at 11.30am. A simple lunch fellowship will follow after the service, and we warmly encourage everyone to stay and begin the new year together as a church family.
Our church will be celebrating its 70th anniversary next year. We will be holding the 70th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, 8 March 2026, 3pm at Calvary Baptist Church, followed by a Thanksgiving Dinner at Bliss Garden Restaurant (Qian Xi) at 7pm that evening. This is a significant day for our church, so please be sure to reserve the time to participate. Further details will be announced to all brothers and sisters at a later date.
The elderly Bible study will be held this Wednesday at 10am. This season, Rev. Ng will share the theme “Fruit of the Spirit”. Join us!

As we enter this Advent season, let us begin with a heart of thanksgiving. Advent reminds us that God has drawn near to us through Jesus Christ. No matter what we have walked through this year, His grace has carried us, His presence has sustained us, and His love continues to lead us. Let us pause, give thanks, and lift our hearts in worship. May this season help us draw closer to God and to one another as we remember the hope, peace, joy, and love that Christ brings.
